Donn Eloyd Olson

Died November 19, 2014 at Saint Mark's hospital Salt Lake City, UT due to respiratory failure. Born March 1, 1928 in Montevideo, MN to Rueben E. & Dorothy A. Tooker Olson. Lovingly raised and parented by mother Dorothy and uncle & aunt John B. & Mildred G. Bird. Resided in St. Louis Park, MN from 1939 to 1954. Graduated from St. Louis Park high school in 1946. Served U.S. Army 1946-47. Graduated from University of Minnesota, School of Engineering as a mechanical engineer in June 1953. Married Mary J. Vik June 26, 1954 in St. Paul, MN, at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church. Their union was blessed with 4 children. Employed by Minneapolis-Honeywell 1953-60 while living in St Paul & Crystal, MN. Family moved to Salt Lake City in 1961. Donn retired from Hercules, Inc. 1989 after 28 years employment. Also enjoyed a winter home in Borrego Springs, CA starting in mid-'90"s.

Survived by his wife of sixty years Mary; his children Sandra Lee Aswegan and husband Larry, son John Victor and wife Corby, daughter Susan Jane Olson, son Mark Erik and wife Julia, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a score of truly appreciated in-laws, Donn being an only child.
