Doris Graub Smith

December 19, 1943 — July 30, 2023

Doris Graub Smith passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on July 30th, 2023, surrounded by two of her granddaughters. Doris was born on December 19th, 1943, in Zurich Switzerland to Hulda Dora Zuber and Alfred Graub.
In 1962, while on his mission, Ed was transferred to the area where Doris’ parents lived. Doris had spent that same year working in the French part of Switzerland and was only home for four weeks before travelling to Salt Lake City in January of 1963. Doris and Ed had met once or twice at Church and during missionary dinner invitations at her parents’ home in Switzerland. They reconnected in Salt Lake City and had a short courtship and were married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 11th, 1963. They started their family shortly after and had six children.
Doris was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings that she enjoyed. She loved being in Young Women’s and going to girl’s camp. She also loved to play the piano and often did in Relief Society and Primary.
In the summer of 1991, after 12 years of providing childcare, Doris got a job at Packaging Manufacturing where she worked for three years. In December 1994, she started her job at Qwest phone company and worked in their repair department for 12 years and retired from there in 2006.
Doris loved gardening and always had fresh fruits and vegetables to share with everyone in the family. She was known for her famous raspberry jam and other delicious recipes. She also loved her flower gardens and planting new flowers every spring. Doris loved her family very much and would always try to make it to all her grandkids dance recitals, concerts, plays, etc. Everyone who knew her loved her and she will be missed dearly.
Doris is survived by her six Children, Glen (Kim Smith), Richard Smith, Heidi Smith, Callum (Carolyn) (Amanda Ryan-Smith), Sharon (Adam Walker) and Sydnee (Richard Balliger), 22 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many more family in Switzerland.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Smith and her parents Hulda and Alfred Graub. We are sure Mom and Dad had a wonderful reunion.
