Doris Whornham Warner, 88, our loving, caring, and beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on August 28, 2012 in West Jordan, Utah surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born May 4, 1924 to Charles Franklin and Eva Bowman Whornham in Beaver, Utah. After moving to Salt Lake City, she met and married the love of her life, Robert Nesbit Warner in the Salt Lake Temple on May 2, 1945. Mom was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in many callings. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Utah and taught in the Granite School District for many years. She had many friends and together with her husband joined many social and study groups. She loved fishing, traveling, and playing games. She truly enjoyed life. Her main focus was her family, whom she loved dearly, and was always there to provide us comfort and support.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert. She is survived by her two sons, David (partner Richard Foulk), West Jordan; and Paul (Kathie), Tracy, California; daughter- in-law Johanne Cleveland, West Jordan; seven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Welby 6th Ward chapel, located at 8841 So. 4800 W., West Jordan, on Tuesday, September 4th, at 11:00 am. There will be a viewing from 9:30 until 10:30 am prior to services. Funeral Directors: Holbrook Mortuary. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT.
