Dorothy Ashworth Pedersen

On January 12, 2023, at the age of 102, our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed through the veil into her Savior’s presence. She was born on December 10, 1920, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Thomas Even Ashworth and Alice Naomi Emery. She had one sister, Afton and two brothers Evan and Richard who preceded her in death. She married Dale Pedersen on August 20, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple and they had 3 children; Patricia (Lee), Tom (Diane), and Craig. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 3   great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She loved them all unconditionally.
Dorothy was a beautician for over 20 years and had many clients in her neighborhood. She was very athletic as a child; in the summer she spent the days in the Liberty Park swimming pool and had many ribbons to show for her diving skills. She loved to golf and bowl. She got a hole in one and at age 88 she bowled a 200 game. She kept an immaculate house until she was 98 and moved in with her daughter Pat and her husband Lee. She also was a wonderful cook. She served many years at the church office building as a hostess and then later transferred to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. She loved the Lord and served in many capacities.
Thanks to the wonderful people at Canyon Home Care and Hospice in Tooele, especially Lucelli, Mary Anne, Holly, Patty, Tina, Priscilla, Patsy and Dr. Trudell. They are truly angels on Earth.
Memorial services will be held on January 20, 2023, at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights. Viewing from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM and services at 11:00 AM
