Dorothy Ann Johnson Garnes

Dorothy Ann Johnson Garnes was born on November 30, 1942, to Jesse Royal Johnson and Amy Bernice Brown in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dorothy passed peacefully on January 14, 2026, in South Jordan at the young age of 83.

She had six children: Pam Martinez (Lewis), Trish McDevitt (Paul), Bonnie Bergstrom (Mike), Kenna-Jean Wallner (Tom), Jesse Strasburg, and Ken Strasburg Jr. (Margaret). She was blessed with her favorite people: 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She spent many years teaching young children within the Head Start Program. She loved her interactions with the children she taught. She later became a Home Health CNA and loved working with those in need.

Her hobbies including bowling, which she excelled at and won many awards. She also loved to do crafts and was active in the LDS Church with many callings.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Allen, and her sister Linda.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
