DOROTHY LUNN May 26, 1913 to January 17, 2011
Dorothy Lunn, our special mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and favorite resident, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Willow Wood Care Center. Dorothy was born Dorothy Laureen Ekstedt on May 24, 1913 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Nels Ekstedt and Laura Barker. She married Elwood Lunn (deceased) on May 24,1935. Dorothy drove for the Army Motor Pool during World War 2. She worked for Auerbachs, Leonard & Reid Real Estate, Villa Theater, and was owner of Dottie's Miniature Golf. Dorothy has been a resident of Willow Wood for the past few years. She was loved by all the staff and even the relatives of other residents who knew Dorothy by name. The family would like to thank all those who took such good care of Dorothy. Dorothy's humor and wit kept us all laughing. She never got too old to crack a joke or shock us with what she said. That is what made her so unique. She will be remembered for her love of gardening and making sure you never left her home hungry.
Survived by two sons, Mickey Lunn, Terry Lunn (Jackie); four grandchildren, Derek, Dax, Dane, Michelle; two great grand-daughters, Kailee, Brynn; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 17, 2011 at 10:30am, at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may visit with the family from 9:30am to 10:15am prior to services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. On line memories and tributes about Dorothy may be posted at www.holbrookmortuary.com
