Dorothy Gene Paul Engh, age 79, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on 18 February, 2008. She was born 13 July, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vera Ruth Gray Paul and Eugene Paul. She graduated from East High School, class of 1945. In 1950 she graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Child Psychology and Elementary Education and also the LDS Institute of Religion. On 19 February, 1951 she married Byron H. Engh in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away the day before their 57th wedding anniversary. Her husband, Byron, was an officer in the United States Air Force. During the first 20 years of their marriage they moved approximately 21 times and lived in locations such as, Denver, Colorado; Washington, D.C.; Shreveport, Louisiana; Houston Texas; Montgomery, Alabama; and London, England. She was active in the LDS church. During the course of her life she served in a variety of church positions. After raising her five children she went to work for the J.C. Penny Company administrative offices located in Salt Lake City. She retired from J.C. Penny after 15 years of service. Dorothy will be remembered for her love of gardening, superb cooking skills, artistic talents and compassionate service for others. She passed on these skills to her children. In her youth she loved ballet dancing and performed in many ballet recitals with a local dance company. She is survived by her husband Byron and their five children, Randy (Valerie), Howard (Cynthia), Sandra, Edward, Debora (Stephen), 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and her brother Dr. Edward Paul. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, 23 February, 2008 at the Salt Lake Valley View Stake Center, 2245 East 2900 South, Salt Lake City, UT. A viewing will be held Friday evening, 22 February 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, UT. and Saturday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
