Our beloved sweet dad, Douglas Rawlins Clayson passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Orem Utah. We will forever miss his kind heart and sweet spirit. He was a friend to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archer Lester Clayson and Mabel Rawlins Clayson, 7 siblings, 2 children, Lisa and Leslie, grandson Steven, and 2 great grandchildren Emma and Ty.
Doug was born on December 12, 1932, in Spanish Fork, Utah. The family moved to Salt Lake City, but Doug always had fond memories of his time in Spanish Fork. One of his cherished possessions was a painting of the house he lived in there. Doug was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His faith and testimony of the restored gospel was very important to him. He graduated from South High School, and briefly attended the University of Utah, before joining the Air Force as a mechanic. He met Mary Ann Barker, and they were married in 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a hard-working man with many jobs, but always made sure his family was taken care of. He loved BYU football and once traveled to San Diego for one of their Holiday Bowl appearances.
Doug is survived by his sweetheart Ann, 3 sons: Michael (Julie), Richard (Sandra), Anthony (Pamm), and 1 daughter: Maria (Dave); 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
We would like to thank Orem Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing for their tender and loving care of our beloved Dad. He loved playing bingo, winning prizes, manning the front door, greeting whoever came to the facility, and listening to piano music every Thursday.
