Douglas K. Collard, 90, passed away May 13, 2024, in West Jordan, Utah. He was born May 14, 1933, in Huntsville, Utah to parents Wells Smith and Isabell Allen Collard. Doug graduated from South High School where he met his loving wife of 54 years, Donna Linnea Fornelius (deceased). They married on February 28, 1953. He went on to serve as a sergeant in the United States Army at Fort Ord, California during the Korean conflict. After his military service, he dedicated 30 years to Kennecott Utah Copper Refinery, retiring in 1985. Doug’s dedication and hard work continued as he worked another 4-1/2 years for Fluor Daniel at Hercules.

Doug was an extraordinary example of integrity and generosity. His willingness to help others, and his great sense of humor made him a beloved figure in the lives of those who knew him. Doug was a hard worker and had a unique talent for inventing and fixing things, always striving to make tasks easier and better. In his younger years, he enjoyed supporting his family-owned sheep business and being out on the range. Throughout his life, his greatest joys were spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, singing around the campfire, and trapshooting. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Following the passing of his wife, Doug was blessed with many years of companionship with his dear friend and neighbor, Gayle Rocco. He is survived by his children, Terry (Craig) Evans, Tammy (Bruce) Taylor, and Roger (Lani) Collard; grandchildren, Tracy (Jeremy) Jones, Tyler (Kristen) Evans, Ryan Kiniry, Karly (Alex) Chavez, Clint Collard, and McCall Shipley; great-grandchildren, Carson, Colton, Camden, Makayla, Caden, Brynnli, Kenzee, Mason, and Preston; siblings, Rodney Collard, Connie Rogers, Juanita (David) Werrett, Bill Collard, and Larry (Vicki) Collard. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers Gale and Don.
