Earl Garland, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, surrounded by the enduring love of his family.

Earl was born October 17th 1941 to Cornelius and Myrtle Garland.

A quiet and introverted man by nature, Earl expressed his love not through loud words, but through the quiet consistency of his actions. Throughout his life, no matter the circumstances, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family, ensuring they had the support he always wanted them to have.

His commitment to providing for his family was mirrored in his devotion to his country. Earl was a proud Army veteran who retired after 20 years of faithful service. The dedication and resilience he forged during his time in the military were the very qualities that carried him through his life's challenges.

Earl’s life was a deeply human journey. While he faced profound personal challenges and walked through difficult seasons, the true measure of his character was defined by the path he ultimately chose. With humility and quiet courage, he chose the hard work of healing, repentance, and reconciliation. In doing so, he proved that it is never too late to seek peace and rewrite your story.

In spite of the hurdles he faced along the way, the foundation of family that began when he married our late mother, Carolyn Jill (Cox) Garland on June 26, 1970 remained unbroken. He leaves this world reconciled with those he loved most, wrapped in the warmth of a family that honored his growth and cherished his presence.

Earl is survived by his children, Tracilyn Williams, Kimberly (Chris) Peterson, Jeremy (Beth) Garland, and Ryan (Merrilee) Garland. He also leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Carolyn Jill (Cox) Garland; his son-in-law, Kevin Williams; and his eight siblings.

Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
May he rest in peace.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 from 12-1:45 PM, with a graveside service at 2PM in the Garden of Revelation at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123.
