Edith Alice Savage, born on February 21, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in West Valley City, Utah, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.
Edith was a cherished daughter of Fred Kueffner and Marie Kohoutek. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John Savage, her brothers Fred, Ralph, and Melvin Kueffner, as well as her sisters Esther Takos, Helen Kueffner, and Norma Warhurst.
Throughout her life, Edith exhibited a deep commitment to family and community, earning a reputation as a rule keeper who adhered to the principles that guided her life. She was described as nice and fun loving, with a personality that shone brightly in every social setting. Edith graduated from South High in Salt Lake City, Utah, and went on to work as a bookkeeper for several years, where her careful nature served her well.
In her personal life, Edith shared many joyful moments with her husband, enjoying motorcycle trips and actively participating in BMW motorcycle clubs. She was also a passionate square dancer and loved engaging with various social clubs. Her commitment to service was evident in her work at the Jordan River Temple and as a service missionary for her ward, reflecting her dedication to her faith and community.
Edith is survived by her two daughters - Stephanie Paterson and Linda Spencer, alongside her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Virginia Schwemmer, Viola Parker, Maryann Easton, and Eileen Allred.
Her legacy of kindness, love, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. Family and friends alike will remember her vibrant spirit, her social nature, and her unwavering adherence to the values she cherished.
A viewing will be held on January 29, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM, followed by a graveside dedication at 2:00 PM at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Interment; Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
