Heaven just became a little more efficient. It gained a tireless worker in Ed Morgan who passed away on January 11, 2014.
Ed was born and raised on a farm in Riverton where he learned his great work ethic from his parents, Vern and Jane Garfield Morgan. He delighted in his younger sister, Roberta, who now lives in Idaho. After graduating from Jordan High School in 1947, Ed had one of his great adventures rafting the Colorado River from Hite, Utah, through Glen Canyon to Lees Ferry.
Ed graduated from Utah State University in Agronomy. He married the love of his life, Caroline Miner, in the Salt Lake temple. Together they spent a glorious year in Florida with the US Air Force before he was sent to Korea. Korea had a profound effect on Ed and helped him become the selfless, compassionate person he was.
Ed worked in sales and marketing management for US Steel Agricultural Chemicals and Coastal Chemical Company. He enjoyed the travel and relationships his work provided. His grandkids were excited to hear his stories about explosions and blasting products.
He loved to golf, hunt, fish, read and especially travel. He and Carol enjoyed seeing the world and truly loved the trips they took with great friends Fred and Ramona. He treasured his long-lasting friends and talked often of memories with them. He longed to go back to Europe where he loved the efficiency and tidiness of Germany.
The highlight of his life was family. He loved to play with his great grandchildren. They all enjoyed playing pool with Grandpa Ed.
He has 4 children: Jane (Scott), Scott (Kathryn), Jim (Joyce), and David. He has 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. We all miss him. He is greatly loved.
