Elaine Jewell

Elaine Jewell, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, in her hometown of Murray, Utah. Born on December 10, 1943, in Murray, Elaine lived a life marked by love, strength, and adventure.

She married Dennis Jewell on October 3, 1963 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised three beautiful children and are the proud grandparents of five best grandchildren and three great grandchildren in this world.

Elaine graduated with a LPN Nursing Degree and worked in this profession until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by Dennis Jewell, Husband, Brad Jewell, Son, Leon and LaRue Peterson parents, Allen Peterson, brother and Lola Renae Wilding, sister.

Mom was loving, strong, and adventurous. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Brent (Sherri) Jewell, daughter Machelle/Scott VanLeeuwen, grandchildren Brad Jewell, Ashley Jewell, Tyler VanLeeuwen, Parker Jewell, and Megan VanLeeuwen, and great grandchildren Kainoa Jewell, Archer Jewell, and Kalia Jewell, sisters Kathy Miller, Merylynn Visher, & sister-in-law Hazel Peterson.

We love you mom and will forever be grateful for your unconditional love. Until we meet again.
