Elayne Tuttle Stansfield

March 21, 1924 — November 16, 2014

Elayne Tuttle Stansfield, 90, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on November 16, 2014 in Murray, Utah. She was born in Manti, Utah on March 21, 1924 to William Ambrose Tuttle and Alice Davenport Tuttle. She married Mac Stansfield on June 20, 1947 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Elayne was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many church callings throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren had fun shopping, going on picnics and taking long walks with their grandma. She was the consummate homemaker. She enjoyed baking cakes, cookies, pies, bread, and canning fruits and vegetables from the family's garden. Elayne enjoyed attending plays, concerts and loved to travel. Her visit to the Garden of Gethsemane was a highlight. She shared the gospel wherever she went. She had a great love of the Savior, her family, her church and her friends. She left a legacy of faith and service. We will truly miss her.

Elayne is survived by her children, Ralph, Lakewood, Colorado; Gayle Harris, Salt Lake City; Jeannine Jones (Layne), Draper; Jon (Tammy), Salt Lake City; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Hougaard and Gladys Andersen. Preceded in death by her husband Mac; infant daughter, Robynn Lee; daughter-in-law Christine Stansfield; son-in-law Gene Harris; parents; 6 siblings. The family expresses special thanks to Katie and Jacob Stansfield for the special care given to Elayne and all others who assisted in caring for our mother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Cottonwood Ward, 5605 South Vine Street where friends and family can visit 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., prior to the services.
