Eliana (Yany) Saldivar, passed away on February 11th, 2026 in Herriman, Utah at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 27, 1942 in Santiago, Chile to Eduardo Toledo and Maria Rosas Toledo. She married and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to John G Saldivar, the love of her life, on November 25, 1970.
She loved the ocean and the beach, traveling, planting flowers, crocheting, reading, studying and learning languages. She also loved music, singing, spending time with her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and is still the irrefutable champion of Ms. Pacman. Although she was very serious about her work, she was also a great teacher and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Eliana had a Master's degree in Child Development from the University of Chile and was also a certified translator. She worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for almost 40 years, starting as a contractor and then in the Translation Department at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, Utah where she made many lifelong friends and was proud to work on the translation of the King James Bible into Spanish. She was a devout member of the LDS faith and held many callings throughout her life.
She was a very generous and giving person and will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her sister Rosa Monson (Kenneth), and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband John G Saldivar, her father Eduardo Toledo, and her mother Maria Teresa Rosas Toledo.
