Elizabeth (Betty) Josephine (Woods) Shassetz passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 11, 2022, in Salt Lake City, UT at the age of 85. Betty was born August 16, 1937, in Sheridan, WY, the middle child of Orville and Mary Woods. Betty graduated from Sheridan High School and then joined the Navy where she was stationed at the Pensacola Naval Air Station. In 1961 she married Lindy Shassetz and worked and lived on several ranches in the Rock Creek area and raised two children, Robert and Betty Lynn. Betty was a member of the Piney-Shell homemakers club, worked at IGA as a baker and then at A&W as an assistant manager. Upon retirement they wintered in Yuma, AZ.

Betty loved knitting baby blankets, dish rags and making little girl dresses. As a grandmother she made sure there was a card with a crisp one-dollar bill for every occasion for each child. She loved collectables, especially Coke. She loved traveling north in the spring for UT and WY beauty. Traveling the Alcan for Alaskan summers. Cruises to the Caribbean with family. She loved all flowers, especially roses. She loved hot strong black coffee in the morning and good tequila or whiskey in the evening.

Betty was proceeded in death by her parents, son Casey and husband Lindy. She is survived by brother Joe Woods and sister Eva Bishop both of Sheridan, WY. Son Robert & his wife Sharon of Sterling, AK, daughter Betty Lynn Purdie of Salt Lake City, UT, and grandchildren, Shasta, Charles, Drew, Kyle & Rachel and great- grandchildren, Claudia, Alice & Charles. Burial services will be held April 14th at 11am at the Buffalo Cemetery.
