"ISH" "PETE"
Born 7-7-28 in Penrose, Utah to John Ryman Petersen and Rosetta Stokes Petersen passed away 1-15-12 at home with his family close by, after a long battle with C.O.P.D. Our best friend, husband, grandpa and poppa.
Dad taught us to laugh, to live and to laugh again. From his 1st. born Steven who he taught hunting and fishing, daughter Jone will remember the Daddy daughter dates and going to the Harlem Globe trotter basketball games, Grandsons Caleb and Jacob camping and fishing and great-grandson Maxx his pride and joy, stacking blocks and pulling faces.
He leaves behind his wife JoAnn, son Steven (Renee), daughter Jone, grandson Caleb (Tiffany), great-grandson Maxx, grandson Jacob(Sarah), brothers Don(Rhea), Denny(Ruth), sister Eileen Yankie, and many extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bud, Dean and sister Florence.
He attended Box Elder High School where he made many life time friends and played great football and was also a member of the basketball team for the Brigham City 4th Ward winning the M-Man Championship.
Served in the Korean War, first in the heavy mortar company 180th Infantry then serving in the 10th Airborne Rangers when this group was disbanded he returned to the 180th Infantry as a forward observer until he was Honorably Discharged.
He was a member of the Brick Layers Union for many years.
We would like to thank Haven Hospice, Natalie (RN), doctors and staff and also our "ROCK" Larry Dixon and the staff of the V.A., Primary Care Home Health System for all your compassion and friendship.
There will be no services. No flowers please, instead make a donation to Haven Hospice, and take someone out for a great steak dinner and a good laugh. Messages and tributes to the family can be posted at: www.holbrookmortuary.com
We love you Dad
