Emerson David Thompson

December 17, 2001 — April 19, 2014

Our gifted and fun-loving Emerson David Thompson was taken home to our Father in Heaven on April 19, 2014.
He died doing what he loved; playing and camping with his scouting friends and family. His death reminds us all that we do not know the time line of our own lives. Emerson lived his fully. He was born Dec. 17, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Benjamin Thompson and Kara Michelle Christensen. A much loved addition and loving brother to McKay Ashe, and later Brahm Cannon and Miles Blane. He learned to read early and always loved the journey of books, and was usually reading more than one series concurrently. He excelled in Math and was a member of the Emerald Heights Elementary Math Olympiad team. He was to enter 7th grade in the fall, and it was a point of pride that he would be taking 9th grade math. He was a Boy Scout in his ward Scout troop led by his father. He loved solving his Rubik's cube and could do so in 49 sec. He was active, and loved basketball and soccer. Every artistic medium was his delight and he also played the clarinet. He faithfully served in his church by participating in many service projects and passing the sacrament emblems of the Lord's last supper with his Deacon's quorum. He is survived by his parents, siblings and grandparents David Burton Thompson Jr. and Mary Christofferson, Blane Ervin Christensen and Sherry Venus Thompson, great grandparents David Burton Thompson and Jeanne Marie Harrison, Lucile Christofferson, and Kenneth Grant Christensen, as well as 21 aunts and uncles and 44 cousins.
