Bill Jacobson
1929 ~ 2024
Eric William (Bill) Jacobson Jr., born March 3, 1929, departed from this world on May 1, 2024, at the age of 95. Bill's life was a testament to the warmth and light he brought to those around him. With an irresistible presence, he drew people in effortlessly, his eyes twinkling with his love of life, and a smile that illuminated every room he entered. Bill had a fondness for firm handshakes and a big hug, a simple gesture that reflected his sturdy yet gentle nature.
On December 4, 1952, Bill married for time and all eternity the love of his life, Maxine. Their bond remained unbroken for 68 enchanting years until Maxine's passing in March of 2021. Together, they shared a devotion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, finding solace and strength in their faith. Bill's love for the gospel was unwavering, evident in his daily readings of scripture and his heartfelt testimony. A dedicated member of his faith, Bill found joy in teaching his primary children, eagerly anticipating each Sunday to share his wisdom and kindness with them.
His love for the outdoors, especially the majestic Wasatch Mountains, filled him with awe and appreciation for the beauty of nature. Yet, it was in his wood shop that Bill found his true passion. Crafting furniture and intricate pieces with skill and love, he created masterpieces that will be cherished for generations to come. Even at the age of 95, his hands remained steady, his creativity unyielding. His wood shop was his sanctuary, a place where he could immerse himself in his craft, surrounded by the comforting scent of wood and the familiar hum of his tools.
Bill and Maxine's greatest joy was their family, blessed with six children: Craig, Vickie, Kirk, Wade, Troy, and Eileen. Their legacy lives on through a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each one touched by Bill's kindness and love.
Bill, your presence brought immense joy to all who knew you. Though the world mourns the loss of an extraordinary man, heaven rejoices as you reunite with your beloved wife. Your spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those you leave behind, a beacon of love and light guiding us through life's journey. Rest in peace, dear Bill, knowing that your legacy of love will endure for eternity.
