Eric Sandoval, 44, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. His departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Born on June 11, 1980, in Frankfort, Germany, Eric lived a life marked by laughter, loyalty, and love.
He was the cherished only son of Mario and Carlota Sandoval and a beloved baby brother to Madeline Ruiz (David Ruiz) and Amy Arias-McDonner (David McDonner). Eric also shared a special bond with his two-bonus sisters, Noemi Anderson (Preston Anderson), Noc Frampton (Timm Frampton). For the past 30 years, he shared his life with his Lady Love and High School Sweetheart, Mem Cardeiro, whose companionship brought him immeasurable joy. He was a devoted bonus father to Ameera Frampton and the treasured “Cool Uncle” to Jazsmin, Jenna, Angelo, Clarissa, Nicholaus, Alex, Joshua, Sinead, and Justin.
Proceeded in death by his grandparents. Mario Patino Sandoval & Hermana Ramos Sandoval and Gilbert & Noemi Carmona.
Eric’s passion for cars led him into a fulfilling career as a mechanic. His dedication to his craft was unmatched—he never missed a day of work and approached every job with pride and precision. Whether fixing an engine or lending a hand to someone in need, Eric gave his all. Eric brought fun to work and he had amazing ability to make any stressful situation light and simple.
Known for his irreverent humor and goofy spirit, Eric was always the life of the party. His infectious laughter could light up any room, and he had an uncanny ability to bring joy to ALL those around him. Beneath that playful exterior was a man of unwavering character—someone who showed up when it mattered most. He gave selflessly to his “boy crew” (you all know who you are) his friends were his second family and Eric held family above all else!
Eric’s zest for life extended into his hobbies. He loved spontaneous travel adventures and delighted in exploring new places whenever he could. He never said no to good time or weekend getaway. Eric enjoyed traveling with his Mom, Dad, and Mem whenever he had the chance. Eric was a total foodie, and loved exploring new restaurants to enjoy the best meal that life could offer.
In high school, Eric was a standout athlete—a Speedy Mustang who helped lead his team to victory in 1998 Class 1A State Cross Country Championship. Eric was voted Athlete of the year. Eric was admired by classmates not only for his athleticism but also for his charisma; he and Mem were voted Most Beautiful and Handsome by their peers. A pivotal figure during these formative years was Coach George Bruce, whom Eric deeply admired and loved. Coach Bruce’s mentorship helped shape Eric’s character and guided him toward becoming the remarkable man he grew to be.
A memorial gathering to honor Eric’s life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 11251 South 2700 West in South Jordan, Utah (84095).
