Eva Jeanne "Jeannie" Jones

March 12, 1932 — June 12, 2024

Salt Lake City

Eva Jeanne "Jeannie" Clinton Jones-Jackson, age 92, residing in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024 after a short battle with cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes.

Eva Jeanne was born on March 12, 1932 to Everett Holt Clinton and Jenny Ann Teachout in Valentine, Nebraska. She later married Robert G. Jones on August 25, 1962 and they headed to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she lived out the rest of her life. They were married for over 40 years and had two daughters, Jewel and Dawn.

She was incredibly intelligent and retired from Equitable Life and Casualty Insurance Company as a Human Resources Director after 25 years of service. She also worked at the Salt Lake City Prosecutor's Office for the District Attorney as a Legal Secretary for eight years. She was proficient in shorthand, which is a lost art.

She was a very gentle and caring soul and loved her family with all her whole heart. She would frequently say, "As long as I know my family is good, I'm good." She had a heart of gold and never spoke an ill word about another human being. Another one of her favorite sayings was "I never take offense or give offense." She was always trying to pass along words of wisdom to those she cared about and an intuition that defied logic. Her words were healing and soothing and she definitely made a difference in so many people's lives.

She was a voracious student of alternative religion and science for countless years and a member of the Saint Germain Foundation for 11 years. She was always educating herself on endless subjects and had an incredible book collection.

She loved gardening and maintaining her beautiful roses, plants and yard. She spent hours on end making it weed free, all while listening to talk radio. She loved taking long walks in her neighborhood and the local mall. She had an incredible angel and fairy figurines collection which gave her much peace and joy. In her younger days, she loved researching the latest health trends, as staying healthy and eating well was important to her. She would always say, "Just don't eat sugar and you'll be much healthier." She was a talented pianist and knew many bible hymns.

She loved to travel and was fortunate to see much of the United States in a luxurious motorhome, which was a dream of hers. She also got to travel around the globe to many exotic countries, all of which was done with her second husband Neal, whom she loved dearly.

Eva Jeanne was preceded in death by her father Everett Holt Clinton, her mother Jenny Ann Clinton, brother Howard Clinton, her first husband Robert G. Jones, her second husband Wallace Neal Jackson, her grandson Carrigan James Clinton Jones, I. She is survived by her daughters Jewel E. Dowda and Dawn C. Jones, her sister Zoe Ann Rumsey, brother Lee Clinton, and her grandsons Austin and Aaron Dowda, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, who loved her dearly.

Heaven received an earth angel on this day, and will be a much brighter place with her in it. She will be sorely missed, but happy to know she will be joining so many of her loved ones.
