It is with heartfelt remembrance that we honor Eva Joyce Miller, 90, who peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Monday, August 4, 2025, in West Jordan, Utah. Joyce was born on November 9, 1934, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Donald Bryant Colby and Benita Barber. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. Joyce married her best friend and soulmate, Donald Lee Miller, on December 13, 1953, and sealed later in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.
Joyce is known for her passion and talent by sharing her love for ceramics. She crafted beautiful pieces from figurines, statues, bowls, cups, dolls, nativity scenes and much more. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully in her callings. Her spirit of service extended beyond her church callings when she shared another talent of crocheting baby blankets, booties and burp cloths for every newborn baby in her ward. She not only crocheted for her ward but for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and future grandchildren. She loved bowling, camping, hiking adventures, river rafting at Jackson Hole and making memories at the family cabin in Weber Canyon and attending the Oakley Rodeo each year.
Joyce made the holidays special, especially Christmas Eve, when Santa Claus came and delivered presents, or on the 24th of July swimming parties at Jackson’s home. Joyce loved and cherished her family and made many memories with them over the years. Whether they were traveling in their motor home, skiing in the winter, enjoying campfires in the summer or the many boat trips. Her faith in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints guided her life, and her love for her Heavenly Father and family. Joyce and her soulmate Don shared countless adventures with their children and grandchildren, bound by love of family and each other. Her spirit will forever shine brightly.
Joyce is survived by her five children, Stephen (Pam) Miller, Cheryl (Steven) Lauder, David (Diana) Miller, Ginette (Bob) Kaid, Coreen (Daniel) Spencer, 26 Grandchildren, 62 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Benita Colby, husband Donald Miller, sister Arlene Hecker and brother Jarrell Colby.
