Evelyn K. Valdez

Evelyn K. Valdez, age 72, passed away on May 20, 2025, in West Valley City. Utah. She was born on February 8, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Andrew Fred Valdez on February 5, 1972.

A Loving Wife, Mother, and Friend. A woman who could always make you laugh. A woman who was always there to lend a helping hand. A woman who enjoyed living life and all that it brought her way. She cared. She gave and she showed us the true meaning of strength. She was "The Sunshine" on our rainy days, "The Smile" that would wipe our tears away, and "The Hug" that gave us comfort when we were afraid. She Loved. She Lived. She will forever be missed. Mommy, you were "Our Heart", and that is where you will always live. Everything you did was always for us, and now it’s your turn to rest, until the day we can all be together again. 

Thank you to the staff at Inspiration Home Health and Hospice, you guys took such good care in her time of need, and she was always sure to let us know how much she appreciated all of her team. Thank you for everything.

Her children survive her: Andrea, Damian and Maria; grandchildren: Ramon, Nick, Gabe, Ozzie and Andrew; great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Alexandrea, Max, Abel and Arlo; as well as siblings: Ronnie, George, Bobby, Manuel, and Lorraine, along with many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

She is preceded in death by her husband and honey of 53 years, Andrew F. Valdez; her mother; her father; three brothers; one sister; and her best friend of more than 30 years, Rachel Bertelsen.

There will be a viewing for Evelyn on June 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary (6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan Utah) a Mass will be held on June 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (1058 W 400 S, Salt Lake City, Utah).
