Fay D. Bascom Crater

December 5, 1934 - August 20, 2025

Fay D. Bascom Crater passed away at her home on August 20, 2025, in Draper, Utah. She was born on December 5, 1934, in Vernal, Utah, to Roy Bascom and Thelma Murray.

Fay was married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to Clifton D. Stillman (later divorced) and later married Marvin Crater, who preceded her in death.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fay faithfully served in many callings throughout her life. She loved traveling, painting, sewing, and devoted much of her time as a caregiver to women in need of constant care. Those who knew her were blessed by her sweet and kind countenance. She spent many years researching her family history and performing temple work for her ancestors.

Fay loved the dry heat and desert sun and spent many happy years living near her sisters in Scottsdale, Arizona before returning to Utah in 2010. There, she lived with her daughter Lisa and son-in-law Cyd Armstrong. After Lisa's passing, Fay moved to The Ivy at Draper where she formed quick and lasting friendships with many of the residents.

Her family extends special thanks to the wonderful friends and ward members in the Mountain Point Stake who visited her, took her to the temple, and shared their love and friendship. A heartfelt thanks also goes to her dear friend Kat, who often drove her to church and temple outings.

As her health declined, Fay found comfort in listening to church talks, podcasts, and watching The Chosen. She was ready to meet her Savior and had an undeniable testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Fay is survived by her sons, Brian and Scott Stillman; daughter-in-law, Bobbi Stillman; son-in-law, Cyd Armstrong; sister, Bonnie Bernhard; five grandchildren and ten

great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Thelma Bascom; husband, Marvin Crater; brothers Ferrell, Stanley, Bill, and Ray; sister, Vicky Kocak; and daughter, Lisa Armstrong.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday August 27th at Mountain View Memorial 3115 e 7800 so. Cottonwood Heights Utah 1:00 to 2:00 for the viewing Funeral Service to follow at the Mortuary.
