Faye C. Bowen

March 30, 1914 — June 22, 2011

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Faye Crowton Bowen, passed away peacefully in her apartment at Millcreek Retirement Residence June 22, 2011.

She lived a joyful 97 years. Faye was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, March 30, 1914 to Ernest and Jean Crowton. She married Edgar K. Bowen, November 24, 1932 in Farmington, Utah. Her marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 22, 1934.

She was a steady support to her husband throughout his many career changes. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for her two daughters and family. She had a deep and abiding love for her family and gave unselfishly to serve and bless the lives of others.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church callings and sang in the ward and stake choirs. She loved music and played the piano and the organ. Faye and Ed served a temple mission in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed camping and fishing in the mountains with their friends.

Faye touched and influenced the lives of many, including her own family. It was most often through the strength of her example. She was kind, generous, and loving. Her life will forever inspire and encourage us.

Faye is survived by her two daughters, Kay Petersen and Donna Sorensen (Gordon), 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren who will miss her kindness and happy spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed Bowen; brothers, Dave Crowton (Louise), Ralph Crowton (Ruth); Son-in-law, Floyd Petersen (Kay).
