Fern Hardy Yeates

March 30, 1927 — November 12, 2022

Fern Hardy Yeates was born on March 30, 1927, in Payson, Utah to Clara Henroid Hardy and John T. Hardy. She had one sister, Geraldine Beebe.
Fern grew up in the Rose Park area and graduated from West High School. She married Floyd S. Yeates on September 10, 1951 (later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple). Together they raised two daughters: Sandy and Janet. The family lived in Magna, Utah until 1976, then relocated to West Valley City, Utah.
Mom was a switchboard operator at Mountain Bell and later at Hercules.
After Floyd’s death in 1986, she remained a widow for the rest of her life. Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a Temple Worker at the Jordan River Temple.
Fern loved to travel and took many memorable trips with her sister and daughters. She also loved cats and any that wandered into her yard ended up as her pet. She also loved a cold Diet. Dr. Pepper.
Mom suffered with Alzheimer’s Disease later in life, and lived in assisted living until her death at age 95. The family extends a special thanks to Canyon Hospice, especially Makell, Dani, Jasmine, Mia, Terra and Codie for their loving care.
Fern is survived by her daughter and son in law, Janet and Ron Brown.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, daughter Sandy, parents Clara Henroid Hardy and John T. Hardy, sister Geraldine Beebe, and several other relatives.
A graveside service will he held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 3:00 PM with a viewing held one hour prior beginning at 2:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Interment will immediately follow.
