Ferris 'Bud' Walker

Ferris (Bud) McLain Walker, 86, passed away January 6, 2010. He was born in Bear River, Utah December 14, 1923 to Frank Earl Walker and Lucy Catherine Neff. Raised in Salt Lake City, He was one of six children. Bud graduated from Granite High School and married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Frances Lund on September 28, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Dad proudly served his country in World War II as a member of the Army Air Corp, stationed in North Africa and Italy. Following his service, he attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in psychology. Soon after he developed and owned several successful businesses.

Dad will be remembered for his kind heart, always giving what he could, for his honesty, love of family, gardening, building, golf, and for his great work ethic.

Bud is survived by his children, David Brent (Colleen) Walker, Susan (Roger) Coon; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean (Ken) Chambers and Elaine (Gary) Moulton; and brother, Frank Earl (Barbara) Walker. Preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; an infant son, Stewart; parents; sister, Janice Smith; and brother, Brian Neff Walker.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 12 noon at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S Highland Drive.
