Ferris Zollinger Ward, 87, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born on February 7, 1939, in Logan, Utah, to Melvin Zundel Ward and Louise Charlotte (Zollinger) Ward. Ferris enjoyed a distinguished career in banking, achieving success through hard work and determination. His professional accomplishments reflected his dedication and perseverance. After retiring, he embraced a well-earned period of rest and reflection. Affectionately known as “the man,” “the myth,” and “the legend” by those who knew him, Ferris was admired for his thoughtful advice and steady presence. He enjoyed spending time at the local gym, where he socialized with friends and occasionally fit in a workout. He also valued moments of quiet contemplation. Ferris was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Matilda (Deleyser) Ward; his son, Shaun Ward; and his daughter, Trina Ward. He is survived by his grandchildren: Brittney (Levi) Jansen of Lynden, Washington; Samuel Hogge of Roosevelt, Utah; and Christina (Mitch) Dressel of Vernal, Utah. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Tatum, Brooklynn, Axton Wiebe, and Tinsley Jansen of Lynden, Washington. Ferris will be remembered as a devoted grandfather, loving husband, cherished son, and loyal friend. His wisdom and kindness left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
