Filadelfio “Phil” Lopez

July 29, 1938 — March 29, 2023

Filadelfio (Phil) Lopez, age 84, passed away on March 29, 2023. He was born on July 29, 1938, in New Mexico to Benjamin Lopez and Virgina Archibeque, and raised by Lionor Rivera. He married Dolores Lopez on January 30, 1959.
At the age of 20, he knew that Dolores was the love of his life. They got married in Sante Fe, New Mexico. They had two children, then moved to Utah to build a beautiful life with three additional children.
He worked for Mark Steel as a welder and could do anything he set his mind to. He loved and took pride in his work and helping was a must. Dolores and Phil bought their first home and started building wonderful memories as their family tree grew with grandchildren that got to make memories in the same place. He then bought land in Fruitland for a getaway life and retirement place.
He was an amazing man, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always had the biggest personality in the room. He was a jokester, loud, and his laugh was contagious, never a dull moment. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing, anything outdoors, and having a good time. Maybe too much of a good time, but he sure knew how. He loved drinking whiskey, along with his friends that became family. He had character and good morals. His family and friends meant the world to him and won’t be forgotten. Dad, we love you, and don’t forget it. We miss you dearly.
Phil is survived by his wife: Dolores Lopez, children Pamela Guerin, Steve (Melissa) Lopez, Dale (Tina) Lopez, and Deborah Lopez, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by: father, Benjamin Lopez, mother, Virgina Archibeque, adopted mother, Lionor Rivera, his four sisters, son, Edward Lopez, granddaughter, Trinity Lopez, and grandson, Lloyd Averett.
We are heartbroken, we will never fill the void, but we welcome you to come say goodbye on April 6, 2023. We will be having a viewing from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a graveside afterwards. at Memorial Redwood Mortuary on 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah, 84123.
