Francisca Uzarraga Miranda

Nuestra querida madre y abuela, Francisca Uzarraga Miranda, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar el 29 de mayo de 2025, a la edad de 75 años. Ella nació el 9 de enero de 1950 en Sinaloa, México, hija de Ricardo Uzarraga y Micaela Miranda.

Fue una mujer de gran corazón y servicio desinteresado, que dedicó su vida a ayudar a los demás y vivir su fe a través de sus acciones. Ofreció su tiempo como voluntaria para alimentar a personas sin hogar, ayudar a mujeres a acceder a exámenes de detección de cáncer en el Huntsman Cancer Institute, leer a niños en el Primary Children’s Hospital, y entregar comidas a familias durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Su espíritu generoso era contagioso—con frecuencia inscribía a sus seres queridos en maratones benéficos incluso antes de avisarles, porque sabía que podían lograrlo juntos.

Le encantaba viajar, caminar por los senderos de Big Cottonwood Canyon y ser una miembro activa de su iglesia. Encontraba mucha alegría en las actividades de la iglesia y sirvió como directora del departamento de limpieza. Más adelante en su vida, con orgullo continuó su educación, estudiando inglés y tecnología computacional. Obtuvo múltiples certificaciones, incluyendo una de Nation Colleges y otra en misiones eclesiásticas.

Le sobreviven sus amorosos hijos: Julieta Montañez, Carmen Uzarraga, Edgar Uzarraga, Adriana Miranda y Leobardo Olea. También deja a trece queridos nietos: Isaac Montañez, Benjamín Montañez, Jazmín Serafín, Abraham Serafín, Brenda Flores, Isabel Castro, Xiomara Uzarraga, Mariela Uzarraga, Aimee Martínez, Alan Martínez, Adrián Miranda, Josué Olea y Daniel Olea; así como ocho bisnietos muy amados: Héctor Rosas, Adán Rosas, Kalani Corona, Josiah Corona, Emiliano Suárez, Gabriel Suárez, Julián Uzarraga y Killian Castillo.

Fue precedida en muerte por sus amados padres, Ricardo Uzarraga y Micaela Miranda.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo el miércoles 4 de junio de 2025 a las 11:00 AM en Memorial Redwood Mortuary, ubicado en 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Podrá visitar a la familia el martes por la noche de 6:00 PM a 8:00 PM y una hora antes de los servicios en la funeraria. Sepelio: Cementerio Memorial Redwood.

Su vida fue un ejemplo brillante de bondad, fe y resiliencia. La extrañaremos profundamente y la recordaremos por siempre.

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Francisca Uzarraga Miranda, passed away peacefully at her home on May 29, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on January 9, 1950, in Sinaloa, Mexico, to Ricardo Uzarraga and Micaela Miranda.

A woman of great heart and selfless service, she dedicated her life to helping others and living her faith through action. She volunteered her time feeding the homeless, helping women apply for cancer screenings at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, reading to children at Primary Children’s Hospital, and delivering meals to families during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her generous spirit was infectious—she often signed up her loved ones for charity marathons before even telling them, because she knew they could do it together.

She loved traveling, hiking the trails of Big Cottonwood Canyon, and being an active member of her church. She found great joy in church activities and served as the director of the church’s cleaning department. Later in life, she proudly pursued her education, studying English and computer technology. She earned multiple certifications, including one from Nation Colleges and one in church missions.

She is survived by her loving children: Julieta Montanez, Carmen Uzarraga, Edgar Uzarraga, Adriana Miranda, and Leobardo Olea. She also leaves behind thirteen cherished grandchildren—Isaac Montanez, Benjamin Montanez, Jazmin Serafin, Abraham Serafin, Brenda Flores, Isabel Castro, Xiomara Uzarraga, Mariela Uzarraga, Aimee Martinez, Alan Martinez, Adrian Miranda, Josue Olea, and Daniel Olea—and eight adored great-grandchildren: Hector Rosas, Adan Rosas, Kalani Corona, Josiah Corona, Emiliano Suarez, Gabriel Suarez, Julian Uzarraga, and Killian Castillo.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ricardo Uzarraga and Micaela Miranda.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary; 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. You may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment: Memorial Redwood Cemetery.

Her life was a shining example of kindness, faith, and resilience. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
