Gail Joy Warren Dudley

Gail Joy Warren Dudley passed peacefully through the veil December 29, 2013 in Richmond, Texas where she was loved and cared for by her daughter, Joan, and Joan's family for 18 months. Gail was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 12, 1923 to Thomas Edward and Gwendolyn Parry Warren. Prior to her move to Texas, Gail had lived her entire life in Salt Lake City. Gail was sealed to J. Wayne Dudley in the Salt Lake Temple on June 6, 1944.

Gail and Wayne are role models of celestial companionship to their seven children; Warren, Joan (John Oldroyd), Michael (Michelle), Roger (Jane), Richard (JoAnne), Clark (Shanette) and Brian (LuAnn). They are the grandparents of 27 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren each of whom adored Grandma Gail, all of whom were dear to her.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; her eternal companion, Wayne (March 24, 2002); her son, Warren (December 24, 1961); her brother, Ray Warren; one grandchild, CarrieAnne Dudley; and one great grandchild, Jack Nelson.

Gail was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served others joyfully and humbly in various church callings. She supported Wayne in his Priesthood service and together they bore firm testimony of the Savior and the restored gospel.

Gail, an elegant and simple woman, loved all whom she met. She asked for so little, but gave so much. Truly, she was a disciple of Jesus Christ whose soft hands and tender heart were a blessing to all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:00am at the Valley View 11th Ward, located at 1925 East Gundersen Lane (approx. 4130 So.), Holladay, Utah. Friends may visit with Gail's family Sunday evening, January 5 from 5-7pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, Utah and at the church Monday morning from 9:30-10:30am prior to the service.
