Gareth Alva Conder

Taylorsville, UT—Gary passed away peacefully at his home the morning of May 5, 2023 at the age of 85. Gareth Alva Conder was born February 10, 1938 in American Fork, Utah to George Alfred Conder Jr. and Ina Versa Nielson. He had sisters, Lorna Grace Conder, and Margaret Leath Conder, Brothers; Eldon Conder, Neldon Conder and Darrell George Conder: all of which preceded him in death, He has one sister-in-law Marjorie Conder, and brother-in-law Frank Grygla.
He married Vonda Lee Curtis and they had a daughter MichelleLee, (Matthew Prince) and sons; Gary Dale (Donna), Tracey Curtis (Diane) and Corydon Jay (Esther) Conder. Vonda passed away May 6, 1970. Gary married Myrna Sue Henderson in the Salt Lake Temple.
They had two sons; Jeffrey David (died June 5, 1989) and Michael Brandon, a daughter Shalena Ann Conder. He has 16 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Gary was a Jokester and a Poet. He loved telling jokes, sometimes you just had to say; just be serious for a minute. One of his favorite jokes was, Do you know the difference between unlawful and illegal? Unlawful is against the law. Illegal is just a sick bird.
Gary started writing poetry when he was young and wrote a lot of beautiful poems. His favorite poem was “The Man From Galilee” it was put into a song that will be sung at his funeral. Gary worked in Printing most of his adult life.
Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 13, 2023 at 1 PM with a viewing at 12 PM at the Taylorsville 23rd Ward Meeting house at 4932 South 3200 West, Taylorsville, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday May 12, 2023 at Memorial Redwood Mortuary from 6-8 PM. 6500 South Redwood Road West Jordan, UT 84123.
Gary will be interred at Valley View Memorial Park.Service Information
