Garnet Afusina Moeai Latu, 44, passed away on February 17, 2023 in West Jordan, Utah. He was born on May 16, 1978, in Fagaalu America Samoa to Penisimani Heitonga and Nora Feagaiga.
He was employed by the Department of Education in America Samoa. Crowned as Miss Safety Star Kist. He was the CEO and founder of Feagaiga O Alii dance group. Was honored by OCA Utah with the Living Treasure Award. He loved dancing, singing, teaching young people about the Samoan culture, genealogy and connecting family links.
He is survived by his father Penisimani Heitonga Latu, sisters Saini, Julie, Jenny, Evelynn, Pule, Marlynna, Wilma and Nora; Brothers Faasu, Quimm, Tootoo, Otani, Luteru, Ryan and Richard; Nieces, nephews, grand nephews, fur nephews, especially FOA sisters and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Uiliata and Salele Moeai; Mom, Nora Feagaiga Moeai; sisters Noreem, Carnation, Leilani, Fuefue; and brother Lawrence.
