Born: April 29th, 1939, to Elbert Halterman Harwood and Ruthella Ann Garrick Harwood in Salt Lake City. The second of six children, Gary grew up in Salt Lake and was in the class of 1958 at South High School.

Drafted into the US Army during the Berlin Crises in 1962 and served honorably on active duty until 1964 at Fort Lee, Virginia.

Married, Frances Evans in August of 1960. That marriage ended in divorce in 1972, son Cary and daughter Kimberly.

Married lifetime partner, Stephanie Paulson in January of 1976. Together they had son Stephen.

Worked as a draftsman at PM Engineers from 1964 to 1968. Gary spent the rest of his career in the cabinet and countertop business. Was the owner of Lamel Industries (Casework & Countertops) for 16 years.

Survived by: Wife Stephanie, son Cary (Shari) Harwood of Bountiful, UT, daughter Kimberly (Jonah) Harwood of Chicago, IL, Stephen(Keri) Harwood of West Valley, UT. Five wonderful grandchildren.

Preceded in death by sister Nancy (Mike) Eichbauer. Sister Lynette (Tom) Canty, a brother Elbert G, (Donna) Harwood of Boise, Idaho and Diana (Richard) Morgan.

Survived by a brother El Ray (Carol) Harwood of Lynwood, Washington.

Per his request there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, please give generously to the Primary Children's Hospital in his name.
