Gayle Bryan Richards Lawrence

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gayle Bryan Richards Lawrence returned to her Heavenly home on June 27, 2016 in Oakley, Utah.

She was born September 8, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carol Bryan Richards and Horace Beers Richards. Mom met her true love, Ray Lawrence and they were married May 18, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple and together celebrated 67 wonderful years.

Her greatest joy was her family: husband, Ray; children, Cathi, Gary (Susie), Julie (Doug) and David. She is also lovingly remembered by 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many church positions including the branch presidency at Primary Children's Medical Center, a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple and serving alongside her husband as a missionary couple in the England Manchester Mission.

After working many years at the University of Utah with Dr. Dale Cruse in the Parks, Recreation and Tourism department, a scholarship fund was established in her name in 1998.

Gayle is survived by her children; husband, Ray; and brother, H. Bryan Richards. She was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Craig.

Private family graveside services were held July 1, 2016 at the Marion City Cemetery.
