"SWEET GENEVIEVE"

Genevieve Fugal Wright, our sweet mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully at her home on Monday Dec. 28, 2009 at the age of 97. Genevieve was born June 13, 1912 to Jens and Lavina Fugal in Pleasant Grove, Utah where she spent her childhood.

Her parents made work fun for their eight children; therefore, she enjoyed hard work throughout her life. She attended Pleasant Grove High and graduated with honors from BYU with degrees in English and PE. Genevieve was involved in drama and music all her life and was a talented and beloved teacher.

Genevieve married her long-time sweetheart, Harold M. Wright, on July 17th, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. They began their married life in Draper and later moved to Pleasant Grove. In 1941, they moved to their present home where she has lived for 68 years.

Genevieve was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she sustained her husband in all of his church callings until he passed away 38 years ago. She faithfully served in every organization of the church. She especially loved serving as Stake Relief Society President. She was the ward pianist for 50 years, sang with the Tabernacle Choir, Londonairres, Jay Welch Chorale and Sterling Poulson's Choir.

Her greatest joy was her family. She had a sure testimony and love of the Savior. Many lives have been blessed by her Christ like love and service.

Genevieve is survived by her children, Janet (Allan) Clyde, Richard (Marjorie)Wright, Marilyn(LaVar) Krantz, Suzanne (Joseph) Rust, and David (Kathy) Wright; daughter-in-law, Carol Wright; brothers, Jean Fugal and John Fugal; 35 grandchildren, 123 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and her son, LeGrande Wright as well as her brothers, Roy and Delbert Fugal and sisters, Vida Swenson, Alda Gardner and Anna Bailey.

We want to thank her doctors, Applegate Hospice and especially her caregivers Gil, Amelia, Riet; granddaughter, Valerie; and great-granddaughters, Lindsey, Jessica and Kallie.
