George Millian Christensen

In loving memory of George Millian Christensen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather who departed from this world on March 17, 2024, at the age of 87 in Salt Lake West Valley City, Utah. Born on February 27, 1937, in Ely, Nevada, to Thorwald Noah Christensen and Lela Owen Christensen. George met Donna Laverne Miller in 1963 when they started dating, then married on October 14, 1999.

George was a devoted family patriarch, survived by his beloved wife Donna Laverne Christensen, daughters Charlotte Beard (Gary), Shauna Sommer (Wayne), his sons Jim Miller (Sherrie), Terry Miller (Linda), Larry Miller, and Jerry Miller. His grandson Trevor Miller, great-grandson Cayden Miller. With many other cherished grandkids and great grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents Thorwald Noah Christensen and Lela Owen Christensen, brothers Don, Ray, Jessie, Robert, sister Donna and his great grandson Layden Miller.

George was a man of many passions and talents, but above all, he was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his selfless willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Throughout his life, Geroge wore many hats – from skilled carpenter to avid outdoorsman, from devoted father to trusted friend.

George worked for Sommers Auto Wrecking for many years, then went onto retire from Salt Lake City Corporation. He was a man of many passions and talents, but above all, he was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and selfless willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone.

George’s love for carpentry was evident in every piece he crafted. With his hands as his tools and creativity as his guide. When he wasn’t in his workshop, George could often be found casting his line into the tranquil waters of his favorite fishing spots or at his property in Idaho beneath the starry sky, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

But perhaps George’s greatest legacy lies in the love and devotion he showed to his six children. George always made time for his family, cherishing every moment spent together and creating cherished memories that will live on in their hearts forever.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 1-3:00 PM followed by a graveside service at 3:00 PM at Redwood Memorial Estates on 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
