George Wayne Crowther passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 8, 2026, at the age of 81.
George was born on September 10, 1944, in the small Utah town of Axtell to Clarence and June Crowther. He was one of four children and grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and the values that would guide him throughout his life.
George met the mother of his two sons, Darlene Curtis, in Salina, Utah. They were married on February 3, 1968. Shortly after their marriage, George joined the United States Army and was stationed in Hawaii, where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, George and Darlene returned to Utah, where he began a rewarding career in sales with Telemation. His work eventually took him to many places around the world, experiences he greatly enjoyed. After many company acquisitions, George retired from Bosch Corporation in 2001, though he continued working in various positions to stay active and engaged.
George lived a full and meaningful life. Together, he and Darlene raised two sons, Jeremy and Ryan. When Darlene passed away far too soon, George faced the difficult challenge of moving forward while honoring her memory. After experiencing that loss, George found renewed happiness with Janice Rogers. Her love, friendship, and companionship brought comfort and joy back into his life. Together, they shared nearly 23 years of marriage, supporting one another through life's challenges and celebrating its many blessings. They were married on December 14, 2002.
Through their marriage, George and Janice united their families, creating a loving extended family. Family was always at the center of George's life, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved.
George enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Whether on a golf course, by the water, or gathered with family and friends, he found happiness in sharing life's experiences with those he cared about most. He especially cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating milestones, creating memories, and enjoying the simple moments together.
A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, and loyal friend, George will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, sense of humor, and genuine love for others. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched throughout his 81 years.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Rogers Crowther; his sons, Jeremy (Stephanie) Crowther and Ryan Crowther; stepchildren Michelle Rogers, Daniel (Claudette) Rogers, Christopher (Tricia) Rogers, and Becky Rogers; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; his brother, Arvin (Wanda) Crowther; and his sister, Neta (Lowell) Draper. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Curtis Crowther, his brother, Newell Crowther, and his parents, Clarence and June Crowther.
The family takes comfort in knowing that George's life was defined by love, service, perseverance, and devotion to those closest to him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the backyard of the home he loved on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
