Gerald Wallace Ellefsen, age 92, passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 1st, 1933, in Whittier, California, to Elias Johan Ellefsen and Lou Orrock.
Gerald grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High in 1952. He married his sweetheart Jeanette Anderson on November 8th,1957, in the Salt Lake Temple. He attended the University of Utah before deciding to go to trade school to become an electrician. He worked for Executone and 3D and truly loved all those he worked with. After retiring, he found his dream job at Clean Management, where he drove around and cleaned machinery for the grocery stores and nearly wore his Clean Mgmt. jacket every day until he passed. He loved spending time with his family, hunting at the cabin, going to Watermelon Days, fishing with his boys, and watching a good ol' western. He probably watched them all 100 times. He would always have the best stash of Oreos, Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and Cupcakes stacked up on his dresser in his room, don't even think about moving them! He had a tender spot for all of his many pets throughout the years, and they brought him so much joy. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings throughout his life. He was patient, loving, selfless, witty, a jokester, steady, and he loved serving others, and his life spoke louder than any words could. He lost his own dad at a young age, and we can only imagine him finally reunited, giving his dad, mom, brother Don, and his baby Joy a big hug. We will miss him dearly, but we are grateful for the love, faith, and goodness he poured into all of us. Heaven truly gained the BEST!
He is survived by his wife Jeannette Ellefsen, elder brother Ernest Jack Ellefsen, son Mike (Carol), James (Zon), Jerry (Mikki), Randy (Heather), Hope (Derek), 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, eldest brother Don, and daughter Joy.
