Gerald “Jerry” Mcrae Christensen

October 21, 1929 — April 5, 2023

Separated for a short time from his eternal companion, Gerald “Jerry” McRae Christensen reunited with his “Rosebud” on the other side of the veil on April 5, 2023. Jerry was born on October 21, 1929, in Ephraim, Utah to Oscar Christensen and Mary Lund. He was the youngest of nine children. In the face of challenges and difficulties he experienced, such as the passing of his father when he was a teenager, he persevered with courage and determination.
Jerry was a giving, supportive, hard-working, and kind father, grandfather, and friend. His gentle and welcoming manner made all who visited feel right at home. Many wonderful memories were made over family dinners and holiday celebrations. To the delight of the grandchildren, even after being on the third helping of grandma’s delicious food and at least the 6th roll, Jerry would always say: “I’m not counting!”
At he age of 19, Jerry married his soulmate in the Manti, Utah temple. They enjoyed 73 years of marriage. Together they had four children: Todd (Heather) Christensen, Michelle (Michael) Madsen, Pamalee Christensen, and Jeffrey Christensen. 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and soon to be, two great-great-grandchildren. Jerry was an avid supporter of his children and grandchildren, often cheering them on at football, basketball, softball, and baseball games. He also loved cheering for his Alma Mater, Utah State Aggies.
Jerry taught driver’s education at Granite High School for many years and coached basketball, cross country, and track. He was a positive influence in the lives of his students and athletes. He was a cowboy at heart and found great enjoyment riding horses. He loved the outdoors and could hunt and fish for days on end. He also loved being on the golf course and would commonly move the golf ball around with his foot if it landed in a place not to his liking, much to the frustration of his family members.
Jerry was always a source of constant support, and his calm disposition and peaceful way will be greatly missed.
