Geraldine Howes Blackwell

Geraldine Blackwell passed away peacefully on June 3, 2014, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Gerry was born on May 29, 1931 to William Lloyd and Hildora Nielson Howes in Marysvale, Utah. Gerry was blessed with two brothers, Van and Ardell Howes who predeceased her in death, and one loving sister, Dianna H. Leathers (Bill), who was not only a loving sister, but her best friend. On November 22, 1948, Gerry married her childhood sweetheart, Donald J. Blackwell, in the Manti LDS Temple. From this loving union they had three children, Donald Keith Blackwell, Bonnie Jo Gaver (Jamie), and Nanette Calhoun. They were blessed with 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved and cherished her dearly.

Gerry and Don served two humanitarian Missions for the LDS Church in the Liberty and Glendale stakes. Gerry was very active in her LDS ward and held many positions over the years. Gerry had many friends who were drawn by Gerry's love and compassion. Gerry will be dearly missed by all who knew her and her sweet, loving spirit.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at the Edgehill LDS Church, 1500 East and 1750 South, in Sugarhouse.
