Geraldine "Jerry" Rich

Geraldine (Jerry) Clawson Rich passed away gently in the loving arms of her family on August 13, 2010. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on January 6, 1935, to Lorenzo S. Clawson and Viola Smith Clawson. She graduated from East High in 1953 and attended the U of U where she met her eternal sweetheart, Lyle M. Rich. They were married on March 17, 1955, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Jerry was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and excelled in bringing happiness to all. Her grandchildren cherished time with Grandma Jerry. She delighted in being a friend to all. Her enjoyment in life was serving others. Her home was open to everyone. She was a master chef in the kitchen and relished entertaining.

Jerry was a valiant and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Relief Society president, Primary president, Young Women president. She was a masterful teacher. Lyle and Jerry served a mission in Sydney, Australia, 2000-2001, where they taught institute classes.

Jerry is survived by her husband, Lyle M. Rich, and five daughters: Teri Williams (Tracy), Linda Livingston (Dale), Lori Sealy (Devro, deceased), Stacy King (Warren), and Kimberly Cowley (Joseph), 21 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Monument Park 14th Ward Chapel, 2255 S. Wasatch Dr. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Wednesday from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. prior to services.
