Geraldine (Gerri) Ann Rose passed away on February 1, 2024 at the age of 83 in Orem, UT.
Gerri was born Geraldine Ann Johnson on April 3, 1940 in Yankton, South Dakota to George Warren Johnson and Elizabeth Margaret Fiedler. She was the youngest of 10 children and a fraternal twin to brother Gary. Her family moved to Los Angeles, CA where her father started a successful commercial and residential cleaning business.
She married and later divorced Larry Lee Rose with whom she had three children. Gerri worked and lived in Los Angeles, enjoying vegetable and flower gardening, including the growing of beautiful orchids. She retired early and lived with her daughter, Deborah, for many years.
In 2011, she moved to Provo, Utah to be near her two sons, David and Douglas, and their families, where she lived in a senior apartment building. She spent part of her days at the apartment building visiting with neighbors and sharing memories.
Gerri is survived by children David (Karen) Rose and Douglas (Shacke) Rose; grandchildren Zachary (Charisma) Del Monte, Joshua Del Monte, Christina Daniels, Johnathan Rose, Madeline (Jaymes) Rose, Darius Rose, Daniel (Alyssa) Rose, Joseph Rose, and Rebecca Rose; great-grandchildren Braden Del Monte, Kala Jessop, Cloe Jessop, Aurora Rose, Remington Jessop, Andromeda Jessop, Nova Rose, Amelia Rose, and Brielle Rose.
She is preceded in death by her parents George and Elizabeth Johnson; siblings Orpha Fiedler, Leslie Johnson, Marvin Johnson, Merle Johnson, George Johnson Jr, Richard Johnson, Ward Johnson, Lowell Johnson, and Gary Johnson; daughter Deborah Del Monte and granddaughter Rachel Rose.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday March 9, 2024 at North Park Second Ward, 1066 W 200 N, Provo, UT. Viewings will be held 6-8 pm Friday March 8, 2024 and 9-10:45 am Saturday March 9. 2024 at North Park Second Ward.
Interment is 12:30 pm Saturday March 9, 2024 at Provo City Cemetery.
