Gerardo Vivar

Gerardo Vivar born on November 12, 1953 to Georgina Huanca in Lima, Peru passed away surrounded by loved ones on June 29, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a dedicated son, brother, brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend.
Gerardo was a loving, caring, giving and hard working man who always put his family first. He took it upon himself to move to Utah to care for his mother through her alignments with his sister. Gerardo was always ready to lend a helping hand while asking for nothing in return. His dedication to his family was admirable and unwavering. He enjoyed life, competing in soccer, working along side his brother in law, getting together for family events but nothing compared to being an uncle. He was that uncle who would unknowingly impart wisdom and encourage you to be your own person, as he was. He was also a great cousin always looking out for them. Gerardo was accepting and kind to everyone. The world is missing more people like Gerardo. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Gerardo was preceded in death by his mother (Georgina Flores), his brother (Javier Soto) and his grandmother (Aurora Vivar).
He is survived by his sister and brother in law, Aurora and Alberto Rivera and his nephews and nieces and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held at the Mortuary from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Interment will be follow Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, UT.
