Gilbert Valdez, age 94 died on November 21st, 2022. He was born on March 9th, 1928 in Indio, California to Jose (Joe) A. Valdez and Eva (Gonzalez) Valdez. He married Rumaldita Elena (Helen) Martinez on March 5th, 1951 upon getting out of the Navy. A little more than a year later they married in the Catholic Church in Ogden, Utah. His service in the Navy during the Korean War was on the USS Missouri as a gunners mate. Dad was an entrepreneur. He for many years owned the Busy Janitor Service, with the logo of an octopus carrying janitorial equipment. Many years later dad purchased a garbage disposal business; L&B disposal. Dad also had other work positions later in life. He owned a grain mill, 10 acres with farm animals, and three small houses in Montpelier, Idaho. He is survived by his wife Helen and seven children: Gail (Louie), Dona (George), Betty (Rick), Jean (Ivie), Robert (Myrna), Kristie (Matt), and Craig. He has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was the last person in his immediate family left. There will be no funeral services, only a Mass at a future date.
