Gilberto Rolando Rodriguez
(Gil)

Gilberto age 69 died on October 19 2022, in Ogden Utah. He was born on February 19 1953, in Kingsville Texas to Manuel and Ester Rodriguez.
.Gilbert had many talents and was passionate about all of them. He went to school and got an Associates degree majoring in Art. He also went to Weber State trying to get his Bachelors degree majoring in Education and Arts, however he did not finish. He instead took the opportunity to do a Weber State sponsored USO tour with his band, Good Company. Which then evolved into a DOD/USO tour with his band Stryder. Music was his ongoing passion which is understandable considering how very talented he was. He had a number of accomplishments that he was very proud of, however there was nothing he was more proud of than becoming a father and grandfather.
He is survived by his two daughters, Meisha Rodriguez Welch and Britany Rodriguez Gutierrez (Hondo Gutierrez), his only granddaughter Delilah Welch, the first love of his life and first wife Laurie Welker Henderson, his second wife and the mother of his children Michelle McCarthy, a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and of course a large number of close friends who became family to him.
He is preceded in death by his mom and dad Ester Rodriguez and Manuel Rodriguez, his brother Manuel Rodriguez Jr.(Aurora Rodriguez), and older sisters Herminia Mendez and Zelma Gutierrez.
Services will be held on Friday November 4, 2022 at 1 pm at Memorial Redwood 6500 S. Redwood Road West Jordan, Utah. There will be a viewing 2 hours before at 11 am. Interment will follow the services at the same location, where Gilbert will be laid to rest with his sister Herminia (Minnie) and next to his nephew Rojelio (Gordy). Also in lieu of flowers, his daughters are asking for donations to help cover funds for the funeral.
