Gill Noreen Ninow

Gill Noreen Ninow, age 91, died on August 30, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on August 22, 1935 in Johannesburg, South Africa to Don and Irene Gow. She married Don Roy Ninow and had 4 children. Greg, Deborah, Paul, and Peter.

Gill and Don raised their children in three different countries: South Africa where Greg and Deborah were born; Canada where Paul and Peter were born and ending up in Ameria. Although she and Don divorced and she missed South Africa, she never wanted to move back because her children and grandchildren were here.

Gill was a wonderful grandmother to her 8 grandchildren. They will always have fond memories of spending time with granny, listening to her lovely accent even when she was scolding them. Granny Gill always remembered their birthdays and would make sure to call and send money.

Gill enjoyed her friendships throughout her lifetime and once Facebook came along, was able to reconnect with childhood friends from South Africa. She went back to South Africa several times to visit her parents and sisters.

She is survived by her children Greg Ninow (Pam), Deborah Ninow (Kathleen), and Peter Ninow (Pearline); her 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and her sister Leslie Grant.

She is preceded in death by her son Paul Ninow, parents Don and Irene Gow, and her sister Joan Barker.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. A viewing will be held from 12:00-12:45 p.m.

Interment will be at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah 84117.
