Glendon J. Spencer

March 28, 1933 — September 12, 2011

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Glendon J. Spencer, age 78, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. He was born in Glendale, Utah to Karl Harris Spencer Sr. and Olive Jones Spencer. He married his sweetheart Barbara Nowling Spencer on August 28, 1954 in Coalville, Utah and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS temple.

An adventurous young man, Glendon loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He played football, basketball and loved FFA. He graduated from Valley High School in Orderville, Utah. Glendon worked for many years at Milne Truck Lines as a diesel mechanic and later went on to open and own Glen's Mobile Diesel.

Glendon was a wonderful teacher because he was so patient and he enriched the lives of all who knew him. He was always willing to help everyone and his selflessness was absolutely unparalleled. He had a knack for storytelling and filled the lives of his grandchildren and great grandchildren with adventure and imagination. Glendon's sense of humor created memories that bring joy to his family even now. He was happiest when he was with his family and always made sure he found time to spend with them. He was faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings in the church. He especially loved his church service mission.

He was a loving husband and a devoted father and is survived by his wife, Barbara Spencer; his five daughters, Ann (Tom) Hansen, Janet (David) Griffiths, Lynne (Lester) Short, Lori (Carl) Koller, and Jennifer (Charles) Mohler; 18 Grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters, LaRue (LaDru) Sorensen, Florene (Clark) Lamb, Lois (Sherril) Porter; and his five brothers, Harris (JoAnn) Spencer, Hugh (Allie) Spencer, Vance (Linda) Spencer, Dell (LuJean) Spencer, Leland (Mary) Spencer.

Preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Stanley, Mont and Rodney.

We love you Glendon, you will be deeply missed by your family.
