Glenn L. Jacobsen

Glenn L. Jacobsen, age 85, passed away on December 23rd, 2025. He was born on December 17th, 1940, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Glenn attended West High School and later Utah State University. He married his childhood sweetheart, Jacqueline Elaine Jacobsen, on November 27th, 1961. They recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary, a testament to their enduring love and devotion. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and shared memories.

Glenn was a devoted husband and father. He and Jacqueline raised three children: Craig Jacobsen, DuWayne Jacobsen, and Lori (Brian) Peterson. He was a steady and guiding presence in their lives, known for his quiet strength, integrity, and unwavering support.

He was a proud grandfather to: Alyssa (Kevin) Miketta, Andrea (Alex) Allan, Delanah (Daxton) Salter, Tiffinie (Bill) Hargis, Krysta (Chris) Countryman, and Lindsay Peterson. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, with another expected. Glenn treasured every moment spent with his family, especially playing with and watching his great-grandchildren grow.

Glenn built a respected career at Rocky Mountain Power as an Area Relay Technician, serving communities across Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho. After retiring, he was honored to be asked back for a special assignment to help with the 2002 Winter Olympics. A reflection of his expertise, dedication, and professionalism.

As an avid outdoorsman, Glenn loved boating and water skiing at Lake Powell, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, bike riding, and hunting. Above all, his heart was happiest at the family cabin in Alpine, Wyoming, which he helped build and spent countless hours with family and friends. In retirement, he enjoyed relaxing at Lake Havasu and Star Valley Ranch, embracing the joys of time spent with loved ones and nature.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Jesse Jacobsen and Carma Saxton Jacobsen; his sister, Lois Jacobsen; and his brother, Lynn Jacobsen.

Glenn’s legacy lives on in the generations of family he loved so deeply and in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Funeral services for Glenn will be held on Tuesday, December 30th, at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd), Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121, at 2:00 PM. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location. Glenn will be buried at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.
