Gloria Deonne Hofheins, our beloved Nonie born on June 12, 1960, has returned to her Heavenly Father and her loving parents. Nonie passed away on March 15, 2026, surrounded by many families and loved ones after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s.
Deonne was the fourth of seven children born to Clifton Reed and Adeline Hofheins. Throughout her entire life, she absolutely enjoyed playing with and mothering her siblings. She affectionately called them her “pack of puppies”. She loved to cook with her mom, and became quite an excellent cook herself, which the family greatly enjoyed later at her many parties and family gatherings.
Some of Nonie’s greatest joys included doing hair for over 40 years and the friendships she made with her clients and coworkers along the way. She didn’t just cut hair; she worked magic at lightening speeds. She was in her element with an artist brush and woodshop to create whatever she could dream up. Her creativity had no end, sewing, quilting, canning, food, scrapbooking, emergency preparedness and the list could go on. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and was a fantastic Dutch oven cook. She took many trips to Bear Lake with family, where there was plenty of waterskiing, swimming, and beach fun. She loved skiing, golfing, softball and picked up Boxing for Parkinson’s in her later years.
Nonie is perhaps best remembered for her unwavering faith and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. She is a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in so many positions where she brought her example, leadership, and fun-loving personality. She exemplified Christlike love in all she did. Her discipleship was not something she believed; it was something she lived.
Although she never had children of her own, she holds a very special place in the hearts of many of her nieces and nephews who she mentored and help guide through life just as a parent would. She absolutely adored each nephew and niece with all her heart.
Nonie’s lifelong best friend and roommate Susan Stewart was her sidekick in all the adventures and shenanigans and helped to care for Nonie to get her to the finish line.
Nonie is survived by her siblings Rob (Colleen), Denise (Cindy), Rick (Andrea), Desiree, and Paul. Nineteen nieces and nephews, 34 great nieces and nephews, her lifelong friend Susan. She was preceded in death by her parents Reed & Hofheins, brother Dave, and sister-in-law Amy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the care team at Legacy House of South Jordan, Assisted Living & Memory care and Aspire Hospice for their gentle and loving care of Nonie in her final days.
Funeral services are as follows: Viewing Thursday March 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 and the funeral will be Friday March 27 with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 and the funeral at 11:00. The viewings and funeral will be at the LDS church at 11777 S Willow Wood Dr, Draper, UT.
Until we meet again good and faithful servant. We love you Nonie.
